Your Brain on Essential Oils

Have you ever wondered if all essential oils were created equal? Or perhaps mused whether or not it truly mattered as to which oil you use for what purpose?
Of course, we all know Peppermint is good for an upset stomach, Lavender is the Swiss Army knife of oils, and Rosemary paired with Lemon is said to have exponential memory support.
So even with these three examples, we are getting the clue that yes, indeed, it does matter. You might be interested to know that the brain responds differently to each oil, making it imperative to know which is best for what and when.
Using the right essential oils with intention can actually help you get things accomplished.
Back in 2016, a doctor named Dr. Oli Wenker spoke in London about brain mapping and how essential oils affect different parts of the brain.
Personally, this was brand new information. I hadn’t quite grasped the idea that not all oils light up the brain in the same way. Some spark certain areas of the brain, igniting the user to action, while others soothe or open different functions.
Here are a few of his examples:
Peppermint → lights up or opens the logic section of the brain
Lemon → assists the brain with listening skills
Frankincense & Stress Away → calm the limbic system (this is an amazing experience!)
He even showed brain scans of which oils activated which regions.
But what really caught my attention? For a complete brain activation, he shared two oils: Thieves and Digize.
The single oils in these two blends, when paired together, create something akin to fireworks in the brain!
To be honest—I hadn’t been a big fan of Digize before. But once I experienced what I’m about to share, that oil blend became very dear to me. Thieves had always been a blessing in my home, but I had never used it with the intention of emotional healing or for releasing patterns that were holding me back.
This Matters Because...
When you’re working through emotions—especially the ones that keep cycling back like old patterns—you need something that opens every receptor in the brain. Oils like Thieves and Digize touch each part of the brain in a way that makes it respond.
Think about it:
You come up with a brilliant idea.
The vision is there.
But the how feels out of reach.
Or, you're ready to reduce your weight, but the old habits creep in.
How do I make this happen?
How do I stay consistent?
How do I finally get this thing off the ground?
That’s where Thieves and Digize—used separately or blended—help bring the full picture together and spark the action steps you need.

Our brains are rarely used at full capacity (we still have about 80% left to go!). With that in mind, it’s so important to activate as much of the brain as possible to bring your whole system into harmony. This is where the true miracle happens, and you are able to achieve your goals, be consistent, and get whatever you have set your mind to- done!
Jot This Down
If you’re in a season of goal setting, transition, wanting to create significant change, or you simply need to buckle down, try this practice with your oils. One drop of Thieves, one drop of Di-Gize in the palm of your hand. Take a deep cleansing breath as you inhale the two oils. Do this for about 5 minutes before embarking on your new path or idea.
Notice the shift.
I guarantee it will happen.
