When the Body Talks, LISTEN!

Did you know your body talks to you? I mean, I understand we all talk to ourselves, but remembering we are trig-part beings, know the body will have a conversation with you if it needs something.

Stomach growling? Probably need a snack.

Yawning? Probably need a nap.

We know these obvious "words". But a lesser obvious form of communication is through pain.

Creaky knees? Might be a bit stubborn and resistant.

Achy back? Perhaps not supported or fearful.

Arthritic hands? Could be you have some rigid tendencies.

Frequent headaches? Probably stress related.

Typically these words are telling you that your body has had enough of the negative emotional nonsense and consequently it is letting you know in no uncertain terms what it thinks.

The list of aches, pains and other issues goes on and on. The point isn’t to give attention to any one condition but rather to demonstrate the wisdom in listening to your body when it speaks.

We don’t always know or perceive the reason the body speaks loudly in this way, meaning the emotion behind it.

Unfortunately when the body starts chattering on we apply methods addressing the physical. Not entirely a bad idea, just incomplete and shortsighted.

If your body speaks in a negative tone, by all means, address the physical condition by your method of choice. For example- I had a fever recently. Of course I applied peppermint to my spine and feet. That wasn’t the time to address my situation of worrying myself sick.

Once the fever was gone, I began to use more proactive means to release fear and worry of the future, (hazards of being a sorta recent widow), such as journaling with more intention and knocking back a generous portion of an anti-anxiety beverage concoction as well as inhaling Lavender and Bergamot.

I realize a fever is acute and many of you are struggling with chronic messes. Yet the principle applies & the importance is more dire. I can assure you, and note from experience, that if these shenanigans of fear and worry don’t get resolved I’m thinking my body will start chattering on a bit louder until I deal with it.

**emotion chart not mine, don't honestly remember where I found it but more are available online should you need a more thorough look.
