Are You Walking Your Call Well Equipped?

Eighty years ago today, the land, air, and sea forces of the allied armies in what became known as the largest amphibious invasion in military history stormed the beaches of France, specifically, Normandy. My grandpa was there. He watched young men drop off the boat and drown instantly because their packs were so heavy and their ability to swim was so weak.

Unpreparedness and reckless use of human life is a flaw of the military at times.

Those men who instantly dropped in the sea likely never assumed that moment would be their last day, yet they probably knew great risk were involved. It’s one of the reasons this generation is called ‘The Greatest Generation’. They did great exploits. They sacrificed a whole lot. They took risks, pioneered through hardship and pressed onto better lives for themselves and their families, and, for those around them.

I think about military campaigns and strategies a lot, hazard of being a believer in Jesus and knowing that all the great got their ideas from the One who is the Lord of Angel armies. We are delusional to think there isn’t a war going on in the spirit realm. Some folks think that kind of talk is just negative and energetically not a “good vibe”.

Listen up- putting our heads in the sand is “not a good vibe”. Awareness is a stunningly high vibration. It enables you to know what you need to rise above so as to not allow the nonsense to touch you down here, but rather, you touch it with your authority and presence you carry.

As I think about D-Day and those who plunged to the bottom so quickly, lives snuffed out before they nearly began-it occurs to me many people are no different than those boys. Many of you are carry loads that are much to heavy for you and your swimming through your journey in life is rather weak. You willingly take on burdens and backpacks that are not yours, as well as stepping onto paths that you were not made for nor are you trained up in. The difference between those young men and us is we can know what we need to do to prepare for the steps and days ahead- physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Jesus said His burden His easy and His yoke is light.

The men on June 6, 1944 were either able or they were not. Some of them were able to struggle and swim and wade their way to shore AND, let’s not forget, defeat the enemy.

As I sit in a hotel room with all my kids and dogs and wonder, how will we find a place to live I am reminded of these juxtapositions. I ask myself, did I step into something that I am unprepared for?

Quickly the Lord replies, “Hardly!” Ok good, so I meditate on the fact that He does not heap burdens on me He hasn’t already taken care of and prepared a way through.

For those of you who just asked yourself the same question and our tender God whispered, “yes, this is not your portion, nor your path, you need to get off”, you absolutely need to listen. It may be a job, a relationship, a role or position you are in, but dear one, it may be very well killing you. Pull away and get trained and raised up into what HE HAS. It is far better, I can assure you.

For those needing emotional equipping, you know where I stay and how to find me, reach out.
